John B. Buffalo, 96, met his Lord Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.
Celebration of life: was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 South White’s Chapel Blvd., Southlake, with Dr. John McKellar and Rev. Betsy Godbold officiating. Entombment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorials: May be made to White’s Chapel United Methodist Church building fund or the Humane Society.
Born Sept. 29, 1916, John B. Buffalo retired as president of the St. Louis Terminal Railroad. During his career, he was vice president of operations for the Rock Island Railroad and the national sales manager for General Electric Railcar Division. He served on the board of directors of 13 railroads and various civic organizations.
Mr. Buffalo was a loved member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, serving on the administrative board and in other capacities. His involvement was expressed in many ways. He was a member of Dr. John McKellar’s Bible study. He was a 60-year member of Wyandotte Masonic Lodge in Kansas City, attaining the level of 32nd-degree Mason and Scottish Rite in Moline, Ill. Mr. Buffalo was a graduate of Northwestern University School of Transportation and the Advanced Management Program of Harvard University.
His passions were church activities and golf.
Survivors: His loving wife of 77 years, Ruby Buffalo; daughter, Joan Daniel and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Kelli Filewood and husband, Mark, Kevin Daniel and wife, Cindy, Summer Fernihough and husband, Daniel; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and dear friends.
