Standing here today looking through the crowd, I’m so proud of where we have all come. Like all of you I have been counting down the days until graduation, and now it’s finally here. We wouldn’t be here tonight without all of the wonderful people surrounding us. Thank you to all of the teachers, staff members, family, friends, and parents for supporting us and leading us in the direction of our dreams.
One of my favorite quotes is from Audrey Hepburn and it says, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.” This quote is a reminder that no matter what our next chapter holds, we all can accomplish anything with hard work and determination to succeed. As we go into this next phase of our lives, we must not be afraid to dare greatly. If our dreams do not scare us, they are simply not big enough. I believe that by staying true to our values and dreaming big, we will have great success in every step that we take.
Looking at the class of 2017 I see future business men and women, nurses, athletes, teachers, doctors, engineers, and even more. From this point on in our lives whether the next step is entering the work force or furthering our education, I know that we all have great potential. I know that we can all reach our full potential through using the work ethic that our teachers and parents have instilled in us.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” I know that God has a grand plan for each of our lives that we will fulfill. Now is our time to walk across the stage. We have studied, worked hard, and now we’re here. Congratulations Class of 2017! We did it.
