Saturday: The Zyndall Raney Band will preform from 7-10 p.m. at the Ward Country Dance located just off US Hwy 67, Exit 25 (Ward Exit). Tuesday: At 10 a.m. there will be an adult craft in the main lobby area of the Lonoke Public Library. Also, at 2 p.m. there will be a teen coding class in the train room.
Wednesday: The 16th Section crime watch meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the 16th section community center located on Highway 319 West . Fire chief Andrew Williams and board president Tommy Sentell ( will speak at the meeting on what the fire department does and the importance of the fire department board.
July 26: Story time will be held for birth age to toddlers in the Children’s Department at the Lonoke Public Library at 10 a.m.
July 27: The American Legion Post 71 Meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Mini Mall 114 North 1st street in Cabot (Old Assessor’s Office)
July 28: Adult bingo will be held at 2 p.m. in the main lobby area at the Lonoke Public Library.
July 31: The Lower White River Museum State Park in Des Arc is hosting a free environmental education teacher workshop from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Participants will receive training in two internationally recognized environmental education programs – Project Learning Tree and Project WET. These programs provide respected and proven environmental education curricula that are approved by the Arkansas Department of Education and TAPP Registry for 6 hours of professional development credit. Aug. 1: The Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center will present a Call To Action for Suicide and Bullying Prevention – “Whispers To Wisdom.” from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Lonoke Assembly of God Church at 1763 SW Front Street, Lonoke. The event will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from a distinguished panel of professionals on the subjects. Greg Adams – Arkansas Children’s Hospital Center for Good Mourning, Mary Meacham – Arkansas Chapter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Dr. Cathy Staton – Trauma Focused Licensed Therapist, Steven Blackwood – Strategic Consultant, Suicide Loss Survivor & Grass Roots Prevention Advocate, Senator Eddie Joe Williams and Lonoke County Prosecuting Attorney Chuck Graham. A question and answer session will allow attendees to address the panelists. Keynote Lunch Speaker will be First Lady Susan Hutchison. There will also be educational resources offered by Methodist Behavioral Hospital, Pinnacle Point, and Professional Counselling Associates. There is no charge to attend the event and lunch will be provided.
