Saturday: The Lonoke County Museum, 215 S.E. Front St., will hold an outdoor, Dutch-oven pioneer cooking event from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. Come see how food was prepared on outdoor open fires during the 1800s. Enjoy an authentic historical meal prepared by an award- winning Dutch-oven cooking club in the museum for $7 per plate.

Jan. 29: The Lonoke City Council will meet for a special meeting to approve the 2018 budget and discuss properties being considered for condemnation at 6 p.m. at city hall.
Jan. 29: There will be a community gathering to discuss the city of Lonoke’s strategic plan at 6:30 pm. in the cafeteria at the Gina Cox Center. Six action teams seek creative input and ideas for implementing key goals of the vision. It will be an unprecedented step toward transparency and community engagement in Lonoke.
