Ongoing: A Weight Watchers meeting is held every Tuesday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 603 East Park in Carlisle. Weigh-in is at 5:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6 p.m. Registration requirements and more information will be provided at the meeting.
Today: If you are looking for spring break activities, series of workshops at Plantation Agriculture Museum State Park might just be the ticket.
First up, a Kid’s Cooking Camp. The fee for the class is $10 and covers all supplies.
Thursday: Kids will build and cook a simple snack in a solar oven made from recycled material. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Fee for this class is $10.
Friday: the Hula Hoop weaving workshop will teach kids how to make a simple rug from recycled T-Shirts that are woven on a hula hoop. Please bring 12 old t-shirts (Adult XL). We will supply the hoops. The fee for this workshop is $7.

Today: The Cabot Fire Department will host a community blood drive starting at 11 a.m.
Blood donors will receive their choice of a t-shirt in “Strong” olive, “Bold” maroon, or “Fearless” teal. Healthy adults, age sixteen and up, have the opportunity to give blood.
Appointments are not required but can be made by calling Arkansas Blood Institute at 877-340-8777 or visiting arkbi.org.
Donors must meet certain weight requirements.

April 4: The Carlisle Masonic Lodge will host a spaghetti supper with adults costing $6 while children 12 and under are free. The supper is a fundraiser for the lodge.

April 14: Volunteers are needed for Cabot’s annual Spring litter-pickup campaign on Saturday, April 14. Sponsored by Cabot City Beautiful, the cleanup is being held in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup and will start at 9 a.m. and end approximately at noon.
Volunteers should meet at the Cabot School District’s Administrative Building Parking Lot at 602 N. Lincoln St. Orange safety vests and garbage bags will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a sturdy pair of work-gloves with them and wear good walking shoes. Lunch will be provided at noon at the parking lot.

April 14: The semi-annual pecan grafting workshop, which is offered every other year by the White County Cooperative Extension Service, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 14.
The workshop costs $10 to attend, which can be paid by cash or check the morning of the workshop, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Attendees should bring a sharp knife and a lawn chair. Grafting wood and tape will be provided.

It will be held at Rolling Hills Country Club on April 30 at 1 p.m. It’s a four person scramble with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Also an opportunity to win a 2018 Ford Vehicle, if you get a Hole in One on a designated hole, plus Closest to Pin Award and Longest Drive Award. Early registration is through April 27.
