The Arkansas Soybean Association has set Aug. 1 as the deadline for entering the Race for 100 Bushels per Acre Soybean Yield Contest and the Go for the Green Soybean Yield Challenge. The contests are open to all Arkansas soybean producers.

The Race for 100 will recognize the first producer or producers to achieve or exceed 100 bushels per acre with a $50,000 cash prize.

The prize will be divided between the producers if more than one producer hits the 100-bushel mark.

The Go for the Green Challenge will recognize the top producers in the following divisions: early season soybeans, full season soybeans and double crop.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four producers in each category with prizes beginning at $1,500 and top prizes of up to $10,000.

To qualify, the field must have been planted for soybeans in at least one of the three production years before 2012, and the contestant must have paid the appropriate checkoff assessments on the soybeans.

Growers interested in competing can obtain entry forms with a complete list of rules by contacting the ASA at 501-666-1418 or the local county agent. The also can download forms from www.arkansassoybean.com or www.themiraclebean.com.
