A Cabot man was arrested on 28 counts of possessing child pornography late Thursday, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel’s office announced Friday.

Ryan David Oyen, 29, was arrested for allegedly distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. Oyen was being held in the Lonoke County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.

Agents from McDaniel’s Cyber Crimes Unit made the arrest after serving a search warrant in the 20 block of Haywood Drive, where, according to a press release, they discovered multiple images of child pornography on a laptop computer.

Investigators seized computers and other electronic evidence from Oyen and it will be analyzed at the Cyber Crimes Unit Forensic Lab in Little Rock.

Special Agent Mike Lett of the Attorney General’s Office started investigating Oyen last month after suspecting him of possessing child pornography.

The Cabot Police Department and Air Force Office of Special Investigations assisted in Oyen’s arrest.

The Attorney General’s Office will turn over its completed case file in Lonoke County to 23rd Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Chuck Graham.
