Fourth of July fireworks lit the skies over Cabot and Ward as residents celebrated America’s 237th birthday last week Celebrants used the tops of acres of cars at Ward as seats to watch the show, put on by the Ward Volunteer Fire Department. On Monday, Ward mayor Art Brooke said the crowd was estimated at 8,000. Watchers at Cabot went picnic-style, filling the field at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with blankets for that show, sponsored by Cabot Advertising and Promotion Commission.
