A defensive driving class is scheduled for Nov. 29 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 163 Mt. Carmel Road, Cabot. The class will be 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Long-term studies show that people who take approved defensive driving classes have fewer accidents and citations.
All who are age 55 and over who take the class will receive a reduction on their automobile insurance.
Young drivers who are studying for their license/permit along with other young drivers are strongly urged to take this class.
Using cell phones and texting while driving cause 120 deaths per week; 80 percent of all accidents are caused in part by distracted drivers.
According to the Kaiser Foundation, teenagers spend an average of 53 hours each week using cell phones, video games, computers and other electronic devices for texting and music.
