About 10 days remain until the first day of the 2013-14 school year on Aug. 19. Student schedules are to be picked up, and open houses at each of the schools have been scheduled for parents to see where their children will be spending time until next May.
A $20 student supply fee will be collected for all students in grades kindergarten through sixth. The fee covers the cost of basic supplies including a class T-shirt, paper, pencils and erasers, pencil box or bag, pens, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue, and binders or folders.
Parents should provide a water bottle and backpack for their child.
The school will purchase the supplies that are appropriate to the grade level and curriculum.
Facial tissues, cleaning supplies and disinfectant gel for hand sanitizing will also be provided. Each school will also provide other student needs such as journals, planners, paper products, scissors, rulers, and dictionaries.
Parents who have not yet done so must register students to attend Cabot Public Schools. Kindergarten students, for the 2013-2014 school year, must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1. If parents or guardians do not wish for their child to attend kindergarten, they must file a signed kindergarten waiver at the Central Administrative Office, 602 North Lincoln St., across from Panther Stadium.
