On Monday, Buddy Fisher officially announced his candidacy for State Representative in District 14. Buddy has spent his adult life in the ministry and resides in rural Lonoke County with his wife, Sherry. He is a Republican.

"I am excited to kick-off my campaign," said Fisher. "Like most people in our area, I am concerned about the direction our political system is taking us. As a legislator, I will bring a conservative approach to finding solutions to the issues facing our state."

Fisher said he believes "we need to have a common sense review" of state government. "Something isn’t right when government keeps growing and people are still struggling to find good paying jobs to take care of their families," he said.

Fisher wants to stop Obamacare and other federal mandates while working to limit government and lower taxes on working families and small businesses, saying "this will help strengthen our economy."

Fisher is president of Buddy Fisher Ministries Inc. and has two adult children.

State House District 14 is currently represented by Walls McCrary. He cannot seek re-election due to term limits. District 14 includes the communities of Carlisle, Coy, England, Furlow, Humnoke, Humphrey, Keo, Lonoke, Scott, Tucker and Wabbaseka.
