Longtime advertising account executive Kathy Lenzen has been promoted to retail advertising manager for Lonoke County.
Lenzen has worked for the newspapers in Cabot, Lonoke, Carlisle and Jacksonville since 2000 when she was hired by Magie Enterprises. The company was purchased by Stephens Media in 2006.
“Kathy brings many years of knowledge and experience to her new position,” said Emily Billings, advertising director and general manager. “We are fortunate to have found this level of talent within our organization.”
Billings said she is confident that Lenzen will do an “excellent job in leading our Lonoke County advertising team.”
“I know she will be a great asset in helping us to meet the needs of our advertising customers,” Billings said. “Kathy really cares about our customers and our community.”
And Lenzen agrees.
“My customers are the reason I stay here and do this,” she said. “I love the people in this community, especially Lonoke and Carlisle. It’s really a home town feeling and laid back there over there.”
Lenzen’s coverage area started with Jacksonville and Lonoke then moved to Carlisle in 2008 with the passing of editor/advertising representative Rose Mary Buffalo. She also covers some of Cabot.
Lenzen is originally from DeQueen, where she graduated high school. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she received a degree in fashion merchandising. She worked for Dillard’s for 13 1/2 years — working in the stores then corporate advertising — before coming to the newspapers.
Lenzen has one daughter, Brittany Beltrani, who is a senior at the University of Central Arkansas, where she is studying to become a teacher.
