Due to the unfortunate school shooting that occurred in December 2012 in Connecticut, Christen Blythe, director and owner of Precious Moments Learning Center in Ward, is increasing the security of the Center.

The center recently installed a video intercom keypad door phone for the front entrance. This will allow only authorized people to enter the building freely with his/her code. Unauthorized individuals must ring the bell, the director or a staff member will see and hear the person on a monitor from inside the building, and decide whether that person should be allowed in the Center.

The Center also put new door locks throughout the rest of the building that remain unlocked on the inside; however, people must have a key to enter from the outside.

"The new system gives myself, our parents, and my staff peace of mind knowing people cannot enter our building at will anymore," Blythe said.
