Bank of Little Rock Mortgage and the Cabot Panther Foundation recognized two high school students Friday, Sept. 20, during the Cabot High School football game against the Conway Wampus Cats. Despite the rain, the game continued and it certainly did not keep the Bank of Little Rock Mortgage from honoring these hardworking students.
The Cabot High School students recognized were senior Monica Eanes and junior Tristan Bulice. They were honored during the halftime presentation as part of the Real Proud of Real Panthers program, which has been active during both of the football and basketball seasons for the past seven years. The program was founded and is sponsored by Bank of Little Rock Mortgage and aims to distinguish students who contribute their time and energy to their school and community, whether through academic excellence, athletic accomplishments or community support participation.
Monica Eanes, daughter of Lynn and Wade Eanes, is a hardworking student with a passion for science and helping people.
"[Monica] is a wonderful young lady who is very mature and responsible," said Monica’s science teacher, Alana Graham.
Monica said she will be attending the University of Central Arkansas next year where she is planning to pursue a career as either an occupational therapist or as a physical therapist.
Tristan Bulice, son of Melissa and Gary Bulice, is an active athlete with a great heart for service. Not only is he the starting nose guard for the Cabot High Panthers football team and the starting catcher for the baseball team, he also finds time to stay active in Key Club.
"[Tristan] is a mature young man who tries above and beyond his abilities," said Graham, who also teaches Tristan.
After graduating from high school, Tristan said he is considering attending either the University of Arkansas or Arkansas Tech and plans to pursue both teaching and coaching as his career.
During the presentation, Steve Jackson, manager of the Cabot branch of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage, presented each student with an honorary award plaque. He also presented the Cabot Panther Foundation with a check for $400 in the names of each student. During this school year, the Cabot branch of Bank of Little Rock Mortgage will contribute $100 for each student honored, culminating in more than $3,000 this year, to the Cabot Panther Foundation to help provide scholarships for students in the Cabot school district.
