Memphis University School senior Nick Schwartz accepted a Germantown Youth Excellence Award during a recent meeting held by the City of Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen. This award recognizes high school seniors who exemplify high academic achievement and who have made a significant difference in the lives of others.

Schwartz is an MUS Peer Tutor and a mentor in Heartbeat, a group that advocates drug- and alcohol-free lifestyles for youth. He is a school ambassador, a member of the lacrosse team, and a representative for the MUS Civic Service Organization and Student Council.

A member of the school’s math team and vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America, he is also a member of the National Honor Society, Cum Laude, math and civic service honor societies.

His parents are Jacque and Rafi Schwartz of Germantown, and his grandparents are Pat and Jack Lowman of Cabot and Rita and the late Hugo Schwartz of Atlanta.
