It’s Esau Corn Time at the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center of Lonoke County.

The annual fundraiser sells corn grown by Chester Esau of Dumas to benefit the WKCAC.

Each bag of 70 ears, unshucked, is $22. On July 12, the Center will offer the corn shucked and freezer ready for $30 per bag.

•Friday, July 5 Tuesday, July 2. by Noon

•Friday, July 12 (Shuck Day) Wednesday, July 10 by Noon

•Friday, July 19 Wednesday, July 17 by Noon

•Friday, July 26 Wednesday, July 24 by Noon

In addition to the corn, five packages of items donated by Lonoke County businesses will be raffled. Choose a package and buy a raffle ticket for $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Center or from any board member or employee of the Center. The raffle drawing will be held on Aug. 1

All proceeds from the corn event and raffle will be utilized for the expansion of the Center and continued support and services to the child-victims and their non-offending families. In 2012, the Center served 134 children and their families.

As of this date in 2013, the Center has served 82 children and families. All services provided at the Center are offered at no cost to the child’s family.
