Darrell Leroy Brown age, 80, passed away peacefully at Lonoke Nursing Home on February 2, 2014.

He was born in Lonoke County on May 26, 1933, to William Alfred and Lois Cole Brown. Darrell served in the Army for over 20 years, was a Korean War veteran and retired as an Army Staff Sgt. After his Army career he worked as a maintenance man at the State Capitol in Little Rock, then at Maybelline in North Little Rock.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 12 years Evelyn (Gilbert) and stepdaughter Cindy Carlson; his parents; sisters Elsie Bailey of Lonoke, Atheleen McGarr of Lonoke, Blanche Sarras of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; brothers, Alfred Brown of Calif., W. A. Brown of Jacksonville, Ark., Gene Brown of Little Rock, and Donald Brown of Raleigh, N.C.

He is survived by one sister, Katherine McEnroe of Calif., and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lonoke Nursing and Rehab for their love and care over the years, and the staff at Arkansas Hospice for making his last days peaceful.

Visitation was held at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 with graveside service followed at 11:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
