Elaine "Laney" Yates, 51, of Cabot, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012. She was born July 29, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas, to James and Jean Edmonston House. She held a master’s degree and was employed by the State of Arkansas as the state sign language interpreter for the Arkansas Supreme Court in the Arkansas Courts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim House and Jean Bruegeman.

Survivors include son, Matt Yates and wife Cammy of Austin; grandchildren, Matison and Noah Yates, Maddox Shiell and Gage Crosland; sisters, Lynne Sharp and husband Ron of Quitman, and Mona Hughes of The Woodlands, Texas; and stepmother, Judy House of Little Rock.

A funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29.

The family requests memorials be made to Arkansas Children’s hospital or any adoption charity of your choice.
