Kenneth "Cobb" Boyette Bennett, 71, of Cabot died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. He was born on December 16, 1941, to Donald K. and Lorene Boyette Bennett and was a native of Carlisle.
He was a 1959 graduate of Carlisle High School, attended Ouachita Baptist University and was a 1965 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BS in Civil Engineering. He worked for 32 years for Arkansas Power & Light and Entergy in a variety of engineering and construction management positions. Two professional achievements he was most proud of during his career were serving as project manager during construction of the White Bluff and Independence power plants.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Lape Bennett.
Survivors include sons, Gary and wife Terri of Little Rock, Mark and wife Kathy of Carlisle; sister, Lanelle Bennett of New Orleans; two grandchildren, one step-grandchild and one great step-grandchild.
A funeral was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday Feb. 5, 2013, with the Rev. Canon Stephen Kidd at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be made to either The First Tee of Central Arkansas or Ducks Unlimited.
