Mary Joyce Goodman 89, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born August 12, 1924, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to William Arvil and Clara Mae (Harris) Brown.

Joyce was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas.

She was married for 46 years to the late Earnest Roy (Goodie) Goodman of Bono, Arkansas. She spent most of her married life as an Air Force military wife living in various parts of the world.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Loren Kelly, and Pauline Steele, one granddaughter, Mandy Kersey, one son-in-law, Don Payton, and a great-great-grandson, Robbie Crusinbery.

After they retired from the Air Force, they returned home to Jonesboro where she worked for Freeze Insurance Agency, she and Goodie moved to Alread, Arkansas in December of 1971. Joyce was active in local school and community activities. She was a member of the Alread Extension Homemakers and served as Vice-President, as President and as Treasurer on the County Level she served as President after moving to Clinton in 1992. Joyce relocated to Cabot in May of 2007 to be closer to family members.

She is survived by her son, James W. Goodman (Kay) of Cabot, Arkansas; daughters, Linda J. Jobe of Wichita, Kansas; and Lois L. Payton of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers: Kurt Goodman, Travis Goodman, Kelly Jobe Goodman, Justin Smith, Gaylan Smith, Taylor Goodman, and Jacob Goodman.

Visitation was at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service was 11:00am Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery Rupert Community Clinton, AR.
