The Cabot Lady Panthers bounced back from a 6-0 loss to Beebe on Thursday to post a 15-2 beating of Batesville on Friday evening.

Cabot put runners on base in each of the last five innings against Beebe, and runners in scoring position in four of those innings. The Lady Panthers just couldn’t get that breakthrough hit they needed to come away with the win.

The Lady Panthers didn’t have that problem Friday, with two runs in the first and eight runs in the second against the Lady Pioneers.

Taylor Anderson and Kaitlyn Thompson led off the game with a pair of singles, with each scoring to give Cabot a 2-0 lead.

Cabot blew the game open in the second inning when Lane Justus, Shauna Attendorn and Anderson all reached and loaded the bases for Thompson. Thompson roped a three-run double, then later scored on an error.

Kayla Henard and Kaitlyn Felder each reached on errors. Macee Abbot reached on a single, then she and Felder each scored on a passed ball and wild pitch. Cabot led 10-0 by the time the dust had settled in the inning.

Anderson singled and scored in the third inning, while Thompson singled and scored in the fourth. Felder tripled and scored in the fourth, while Abbot and Attendorn each reached on errors and later scored.

Thompson pitched a solid game, actually earning a no-hitter despite giving up two runs. Batesville scored two in the third inning thanks to a pair of walks, an error and a fielder’s choice.

Thompson struck out eight in five innings, while walking four. At the plate, Thompson was 3 for 3 with a walk and three runs. Anderson was 4 for 4 with three runs as Cabot’s leadoff hitter.

In junior varsity action, Cabot split a doubleheader with Benton on Monday. Cabot won the first game 5-2 while Benton won the nightcap 9-4.
