The Cabot Lady Panthers capped off their season with a big 58-44 win over the Searcy Lady Lions on Friday at Panther Arena.

Searcy led 4-2 in the opening minutes, but then things began to get out of hand as the Lady Panthers took over the game.

A bucket by CoCo Calhoun sparked a 19-3 run by the Lady Panthers that put the home team firmly in control of the contest. Calhoun had a big night, leading all scorers 21 points.

Senior Lakyn Crumbly was the only other Lady Panther in double figures, scoring 10 points in her final game. Crumbly is the only player left from the 2012 Class 7A state championship team.

The Lady Panthers led 32-12 at halftime and surged to a 41-17 lead on a Crumbly three-pointer in the third quarter before calling off the dogs.

Danielle McWilliams filled up the scorebook for the Lady Panthers with eight points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Alyssa Hamilton didn’t have a big scoring night with six points, but did dish out five assists and pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds.

Anna Sullivan scored four points, Rachel Allgood had three points, while Leighton Taylor, Maddie Willhite and Lily Sinclair each added two points to round out the scoring.

The Lady Panthers end their season at 15-13 overall and 6-8 in 7A/6A-East play. Cabot finished fourth in league play. However, they were seven in the power rankings in the 7A-Central. To make the state tournament, a 7A school must finish in the top six. This is the first time since 2001 that the Lady Panthers will not play in the postseason.
