Today: The Steel Bridge Baptist Church, Colossal Coastal World Vacation Bible School will continue nightly from 6:30-9 p.m. through Aug. 2. Ages three through adult, are invited to attend. The Steel Bridge Baptist Church is located on State Hwy. 31 South in Lonoke.

Friday: Beat the heat with a cool movie at The Marjorie Walker McCrary Memorial Library today at 3 p.m.

Sunday: New Testament Baptist Church will begin “The Mighty God” Vacation Bible School. Bible School will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm each evening Sunday, July 28th through Thursday, Aug. 1st for ages 4 through 6th grade. New Testament is located at 1601 Lincoln St. in Lonoke. Monday: The regular Lonoke School board meeting has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. in the administration building.

Wednesday: The Marjorie Walker McCrary Memorial Library will host ‘Digging Ants’ at 10 a.m. Children ages five and under are invited to join in the fun.

Aug. 1: BancorpSouth in Carlisle will collecting school supplies for children in need throughout the month of August. Donations may be dropped of in the lobby during regular business hours.

Aug. 2: It is the last day to bring in reading logs for The Marjorie Walker McCrary Memorial Library. Children from the summer reading program must turn in their logs to be eligible for our grand prize drawings.

Aug. 7: The Marjorie Walker McCrary Memorial Library will host ‘Digging Machines’ at 10 a.m. Children ages five and under are invited to attend the summer reading fun.

Aug. 8: The Marjorie Walker McCrary Memorial Library is celebrating the end of summer reading with a back to school party. Come see The Kinders preform today at 5 p.m. in the American Legion Building located on 117 East 2nd Street. For more information, please call 676-6635.

Aug. 10: The 2013 Mothers 4 Education Back to School Bash will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Carlisle City Park. There will be free school supplies, activities, food and entertainment provided throughout the event. Children must be present to receive supplies.

Aug. 10: The grand opening of the Gina Cox Center at Lonoke High School will be held at 3 p.m. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 12: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon at the Civic Center.

Aug. 12: The Lonoke City Council meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Court Room.

Aug. 12: The Carlisle School Board meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in the board room at the Superintendents Office.

Aug. 15: The Carlisle School District will host an open house at the elementary and high school from 6-7:30 p.m. Parents are students are invited to attend.

Aug. 19: The Lonoke School board will meet at 6 p.m. at the administration office.

Aug. 20: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.
