Thursday: Beginning today, the Carlisle Public Library will hold a costume swap through Oct. 18 during regular business hours. Over 30 costumes to chose from. There will be a fire safety toddler time at 10 a.m.
Oct. 12: The Grand Prairie Round Table of Lonoke will be sponsoring an event at Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery from 1-4 p.m. in Cabot. Local historian and Camp Nelson researcher, R.D. Keever will share a display a history of Confederate Camp Nelson at Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery, south off of Campground Road on Cherry Road. The cemetery is located at Cherry Road and Rye Drive. (Quick route is to take the Lonoke exit from the interstate, and run Hwy 31 north, exiting on Highway 321. It is 2 miles to Camp Nelson.) Keever will set up a period tent and a horse in complete period dress, along with artifacts from Camp Nelson. He will ask and answer questions on Camp Nelson. He hopes to raise the awareness of the history surrounding Camp Nelson. Keever is a re-enactor and a retired teacher, who totally knows nearly everything that there is to know about Camp Nelson. Saturday: The Concord United Methodist Church in Furlow will host a fundraiser for its youth. Serving begins at 5 p.m. Takeouts are available. Gospel music will be performed from 5- 7 p.m. by local groups. Donations will be accepted.
Sunday New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Lincoln St., Lonoke will celebrate their 53rd homecoming with former pastor, Bro. Billy Pearson as guest speaker. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with special music presented by the Pearson Girls Trio. A potluck lunch will be served at noon following worship services at 11 a.m. Pastor Tim Ward invites all former members, friends and the public to come and share this special day with New Testament.

Tuesday: The Carlisle Public Library will be hosting Teen Read week through Oct. 19. Teens can play a scavenger hunt game.
Tuesday: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.
Wednesday: The Carlisle Public Library will host a Halloween themed toddler time at 10 a.m.
Oct. 21: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building.
Oct. 21: The Carlisle Public Library will host a "Pinch of This" adult cooking demonstration at 5:15 p.m. at the library.
Oct. 23: The Immunization Outreach Clinic will be at the Carlisle Schools from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. giving free flu shots. Bring your insurance cards, and claim the shot as part of your "Wellness" program.

Oct. 28: Patrons are invited to visit the Carlisle Public Library from 4-6 p.m. to make duct tape wallets.
