Lois Ann Bryant’s home was the setting for the Carlisle Progressive Club’s 10th annual "Ornament Swap" and Christmas Coffee on Dec. 12. Co-hostesses Cathy Williams, Pat Aycock, Lucy Nannie, Betty Schafer, and Jane Ann Harper welcomed everyone and gathered the "Sweats for Vets".

President Jane Ann Harper presided over the business meeting. Nineteen members and guest, June Spann, attended. December library books were assigned to Ann Lenderman and Charlene Lewis. Shirley Stanley reported that welcome bags have been assembled and delivered to Open Arms Shelter. She also reported that a $500 donation was given by Patty Luppen to aid in the preparation of future welcome bags for the children of that shelter and the Wade Knox Center. The club Christmas tree was completed and sold in auction to assist the Band Boosters in the purchase of new band uniforms.

After the business meeting, the club shared their favorite family Christmas traditions, and played Dirty Santa to decide who would come away with their favorite exchange ornament. Betty Schafer drew the coveted #20 in the Dirty Santa lineup. After the swap, Nancy Chudy blessed the food, and the club enjoyed visiting and sharing the buffet provided by the hostesses.

The next club meeting will be Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Methodist Family Life Center. Dinner will be provided after the meeting.
