Three students from Olympic Style Taekwondo in Carlisle placed first Saturday at an out-of-state tournatment.
Hayden Ingle, Von Zimmerman and Johnathan Lewellyn competed in the U.S. Central Open Taekwondo Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Their instructor Tabitha Turner said she is very proud of them. Turner said winning as many first-place medals as they did at their first tournament says a lot about the Carlisle taekwondo school as well as the the hard work of its students and their dedication to training.
Ingle, 7, placed first in board breaking and third in forms. He is the son of Tiffany and Chad Ingle of Carlisle.
Zimmerman, 6, placed first in forms and second in board breaking. He is the son of John and Nicole Zimmerman of Carlisle.
Lewellyn, 27, placed first in both forms and board breaking. He is the son of Johnny and Betty Lewellyn of Lonoke.
Olympic Style Taekwondo classes are held at 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Carlisle Community Gym. Ages 4 and up may participate. For more information about signing up or signing up a child, call Turner at (501) 952-5192.
