Come one, come all the the annual Carlisle Christmas parade and down town festivities on Monday night.
Festivities will begin with the Chamber hamburger supper from 4-6:30 p.m. in the fire station. Hamburger or hot dog meals, including chips and a drink, will be available for $5. Entertainment during the meal will be preformed by the Carlisle ABC preschool classes beginning at 5:45 p.m.
The Altruistic Club Nativity lighting will begin at 5 p.m. in front of BancorpSouth Bank followed by a performance from The Finest Forte.
Line up for the Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Riviana followed by the parade at 6:30 p.m. The parade, which will be lead by special guests Mr. and Mrs. Claus will leave from Riviana, proceeded east on Main Street to Court Street, and then north on Court Street to the city park where it will then make its way back to Main Street.
To make the parade a success, more entries are needed, according to an event spokesman. Anyone wanting to participate in the parade may pick up forms at First State Bank, Bank of England, BancorpSouth or at Fever’s. Chamber Secretary Fever McElyea ask that all forms be turned in by 2 p.m. on Saturday to Fever’s. According to McElyea, only eight entries have been turned in as of Tuesday.
While waiting for the parade to begin, stop by one of the many local downtown businesses who will be open to share their holiday cheer. The Bison Band will be selling hot chocolate infront of the fire station for those who need to warm up in between activities.
Pictures with Santa will be available for purchase at Fever’s following the parade.
