The Carlisle Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) had a great showing at the 2013 State Conference on April 8 and 9 in Little Rock. For the first time in Carlisle High School history, CHS has a student serving as a state officer. Jaden Daniels was elected Arkansas state reporter and will represent Carlisle and the state organization at the National Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Carlisle had 19 students and two advisers in attendance at the two-day conference. Carlisle students who competed included: Hannah Oden, Business Law; Audrey Roberts, Business Procedures; MaKenzie Bennett and Jacob Jones, Emerging Business Issues; Lindsey Strickland, Intro to Business Communications; Skylar Gosney, Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Jacob Wilson, Technology Concepts; and Lexi Andrews, Web Design.

In addition, the following were recognized in their competitive events: Megan Stock and Clay Parker, third Business Plan; Dusty Nichols and Jaden Daniels, fourth Business Presentations; Jacob Cagle, Thomas McCallie, and Nick Schafer, fourth Community Service Project; Jacob Stack, second Cyber Security; Thomas McCallie, Jacob Cagle, and Nick Schafer, fourth Digital Design and Promotion; and David Beale, fourth Future Business Leader.

Other recognition included: Dusty Nichols selected to Who’s Who in FBLA; Angela McCallie received 25-year Adviser Service Award; David Beale received Future, Business and Leader National awards; and Thomas McCallie and Dustin Nichols received Future National awards.

The Carlisle Chapter received first place, FBLA Foundation; fourth Largest Chapter based on Market Share; and received the Gold Seal and Outstanding Chapter Awards.

Members are making plans to attend the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California on June 27- July 1.
