The Carlisle Lady Bison softball season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to Brinkley in the first round of the district tournament last week.

Carlisle led 2-0 after two innings. Presley Carter and McKayla Prince both scored runs.

Brinkley then scored three in the fourth and one in the sixth to gain control of the game.

Carlisle had chances to scored in the fifth but Katlyn Stock and Hannah Cooper were both retired on the base paths.

Earlier in the week, Carlisle split a doubleheader with Brinkley in the final regular-season games.

Brinkley won the first game 7-6. The Lady Bison won the nightcap 8-6.

In the first game, the score was tied 3-3 after one inning. Cooper, Maddie Harrison and Taylor Mealler each scored runs.

Carlisle took a 4-3 lead in the top of the second. Carter scored the run.

The Lady Tigers scored twice in the bottom of the frame to lead 5-4. They scored single runs in the third and fourth innings to lead 7-4

Carlisle scored twice in the top of the fifth but left the tying run at third base. Scoring were Heather Gordon and Mealler.

In the second game, Carlisle trailed 5-4 heading into the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Bison then scored four runs to lead 8-5. Scoring were Cooper, Harrison, Mealler and Ashley Reid.

Brinkley scored once in the top of the fifth but couldn’t get over the hump.

Carlisle scored twice in the first and single runs in the second and third innings. Scoring were Cooper, Mealler, Mallari Devinney and Reid.
