The July 12 issue of the Lonoke Democrat stated that the City Council made changes to the ordinance code manual. Currently, the manual is only a proposed document. Modifications are being made to the manual, then the council must approve the modifications.
These modifications are not yet being enforced:
•If a property owner’s grass exceeds 8 inches in height, then the city in the past has sent the owner notice that they have seven days to mow it. The modification would allow only three days.
• Dogs and cats would need city tags. Sterilized cats may be outside and unsterilized cats must be kept indoors. Sterilized and non-sterilized cats would also would wear different color tags.
The Democrat apologies for any confusion.
