The Lonoke Jackrabbits will be going for their sixth state basketball championship in school history when they play the Brookland Bearcats in the Class 4A state title game today at 5:15 p.m. at Summit Arena in Hot Springs.

Lonoke (26-6) defeated Nashville 50-39 in the semifinals Monday at the Gina Cox Center; Brookland (27-6) beat Monticello 22-21 in overtime to punch its ticket to the state title game.

If the Jackrabbits win, a sixth title would tie Valley Springs and West Memphis for seventh most in state history.

The Jackrabbits previously won titles in 1969, 1982, 1999, 2000 and 2008.

Other games today including the 4A girls final between Central Arkansas Christian and Malvern at 3:30 p.m.; 7A girls final between Conway and Fort Smith Northside at 7 p.m.; and the 7A boys final between North Little Rock and Springdale at 8:45 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for both adults and students at Summit Arena.
