Lonoke Public Schools will host law enforcement and fire/safety personnel Appreciation Day on Friday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. A reception will be held in their honor to recognize and thank these men and women for their service, dedication, and commitment in providing a safe environment for our students, staff, and community members.

The Student Leadership Team volunteer community service project will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 8 a.m. until noon. This community service project involves students from the Lonoke School District’s Leadership Team. The students will be raking yards of community members that are unable to take care of their yard work on their own.

January is Arkansas School Board Member Appreciation Month. Throughout the month of January, activities will be held for the Lonoke School Board members. A reception will be held in honor of board members prior to the regular school board meeting on January 27, 2014. Mr. Rick Pennington, long standing board member for Lonoke Schools will be honored for his work and service to the students and the school system. The reception will take place at the Lonoke High School cafeteria from 5:30-6:15 p.m. All former school board members and former administrators are invited to attend this reception.

The Legends of Lonoke Concert will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Lonoke High School Cafeteria and the Gina Cox Center. Tickets went on sale on Wednesday for $15 per person for dinner and the concert. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.

All sales go for the student leadership team to promote leadership learning in the school and the community.
