BRYANT — Remington’s Nick Watson saved one of his best offensive games for the AA American Legion state tournament.

Watson hit a solo homer, finishing 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs as the Bullets beat Lake Hamilton 9-2 in the first round of the state tournament Friday afternoon.

Watson’s other hit was an RBI single in the fifth inning.

Lane Moore also scored two runs. Scoring single runs were Shane Pepper, Guy Halbert, Chris Hart, Madison James and Christian james.

Halbert and Moore also had two hits each.

Halbert got the win in relief of Pepper. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth. He did not allow a hit in 3 1/3 innings, striking out four and allowing only one walk.

The Bullets will play in the second round of the tournament Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against the winner of Hot Springs Lakeside and Rose Bud at Bishop Park in Bryant.
