The Lonoke Jackrabbits baseball team improved to 2-0 in 4A-2 action with a 14-7 win over the Newport Greyhounds on Monday at the Lonoke Ball Park.

Lonoke scored four runs in the first, three int he second, one in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth.

The Greyhounds scored single runs in the first, second and fourth innings before scoring four runs in the sixth.

Lonoke pitcher Zack Risner got the win, going six innings. He allowed all seven runs — six earned. He struck out seven.

Garrett Spears pitched a scoreless seven inning despite leaving runners at second and third.

Shane Pepper was 4 for 4 with four runs scored and an RBI. Christian James, Blake Gooden, Guy Halbert, Madison James and Nick Graves scored two runs each.
