The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits improved to 19-6 overall and 11-2 in 4A-2 conference play with a 46-40 win over Clinton on Tuesday at the Gina Cox Center.

The win avenged an earlier loss at Clinton.

In the win Tuesday, Lonoke led 8-5 after one quarter. Eboni Willis scored six while Kerasha Johnson added a field goal.

Lonoke led 18-16 at halftime. Willis scored six points in the second quarter while Callie Whitfield and Jarrelyn McCall had two points each.

Lonoke outscored Clinton 28-24 in the second half to get the win.

Willis led Lonoke with 22 points. McCall scored 15. Johnson had seven. Whitfield had two.

Lonoke knocked off Newport 49-37 on Monday night. The game was originally scheduled for Friday but postponed because of winter weather.

The score was tied 12-12 after one quarter. Lonoke outscored Newport 15-5 in the second quarter to lead 27-17 at halftime. Ashlyn Allen scored nine points in the second quarter while Johnson had four. McCall scored two.

McCall led Lonoke with 13 points. Allen and Amanda Sexton scored nine points each. Johnson scored six. Savannah Holman and Willis and had four points each. Whitfield added three.

Lonoke also beat Marianna 62-48 last week.

The Lady Jackrabbits led 14-0 after one quarter and 28-15 at halftime.

Willis led Lonoke with 29 points. McCall added 10. Scoring eight each were Holman and Allen. Whitfield and Kimistri Balance had three points each. Sexton had two.

Lonoke will host Heber Springs in the regular-season finale Friday night at the Gina Cox Center then play in the 4A-2 district tournament next week at Marianna.

Jr. Lady Rabbits 47, Newport 17

The Lonoke Junior Lady Jackrabbits ended the regular season with a 47-17 win over Newport on Monday.

Lonoke led 15-0 after one quarter and 26-7 at halftime.

Destiny Bracy led Lonoke with 12 points. Kylie Hobson had nine. Kennedy White scored six. Keiunna Walker scored five. Maddie Pool had four. Sydnee Gann scored two.

Junior high district tourney

The 4A-2 junior high district tournament will start today at Pine Bluff Dollarway. All first round games will be played in both gyms on the Dollarway campus.

The semifinals will be played Saturday. The finals will be played Wednesday at Dollarway.
