The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits volleyball team picked up three conference wins in the past week.

Lonoke beat Heber Springs in three games Tuesday. The scores were 25-16, 25-21, 26-24.

The Lady Jackrabbits beat Southside Batesville in five games Sept. 12 at the Gina Cox Center. The scores were 5-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Lonoke swept Pulaski Robinson on Sept. 10. The scores were 25-14, 25-23, 25-14.

With the wins, the Lady Jackrabbits are 4-1 in 4A-Central play. Lonoke’s lone conference loss was at Marianna two weeks ago.

"We just didn’t finish," Coach Laura Park said. "We pretty much beat ourselves but they are a pretty good team."

Park said her team’s 4-1 mark is the best start it has had in several seasons.

"I’m hoping that if we can keep this up, we can finish first in conference and be seeded one in our district tournament," she said. "We still have more than half of our conference schedule to go."

Park said the league start is giving her team more confidence.

"It’s giving them a little more drive to play harder and do well because they see that they can be successful," she said.

Lonoke will host the 4A-Central tournament this season at the Gina Cox Center. Dates for the tournament are Oct. 21, 22 and 24.
