Lonoke County Master Gardeners will sponsor a three-meeting series on basic gardening: Feb. 7 – composting, soil sampling, planting leafy vegetables and controlling garden pests; Feb. 21 – container gardening, garden design, ergonomic tools, and aquatic gardening; Feb. 28 – junior Master Gardeners and 4H; cultivating strawberries, blackberries and blueberries; planting small fruits and preserving garden produce.

The Feb. 7 meeting will be held at the Lonoke Agriculture Center, 2001 SE Front Street (U.S. Highway 70 east – about two miles east of the intersection with Center Street), Lonoke.

The Feb. 21 and 28 meetings will be at the Cabot City Annex, 208 North First Street, Cabot.

All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required; attend any of the meetings.

The meetings are open to all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Anyone in need of special assistance to attend the meetings should notify the Lonoke County Extension Office in advance.
