On Thursday, March 9, the Woodlawn Community opened their doors for the weekly community events.


President Cecilia Anderson opened the program for the day by having 15 attendees recite The Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America”, accompanied on the piano by Anita Weathers. Anita also gave the invocation, inviting everyone to remember those in need and she said Grace, blessing the food.


An enjoyable Bingo Game was played, with surprise gift bags presented.


After a delicious potluck dinner, upcoming events were discussed for Thursday, March 16. A “Snap On Jewelry Party” would be held, which promises to be fun with many pieces of unusual jewelry.


On Saturday, March 18, beginning 4 p.m. we will be hosting an “all you can eat Bean Supper fundraiser. There will be beans, fried potatoes, cornbread and lots of desserts. The cost will be Adults $10. Children under 10 free.


The Larry Weathers Band will perform, providing great music. Proceeds for the fundraiser will contribute to the upkeep of the Woodlawn Community Center. It promises to be a great family outing.
