The Carlisle School Board met Monday for their regular scheduled meeting. Terry McCallie, Bryan Oliger, Adam Ellis, Cliff Schafer and Superintendent Jason Clark were all present.
Following a 28 minute executive session, the board reconvened to act on personnel matters. By unanimous votes, the board accepted the resignation of Jayson Lowery effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, to accept the resignation of Laura Widener effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, to accept the resignation of LeAnn Brazeal effective at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, to accept the resignation of Rose Gordon effective March 31, 2017, to hire Makaya Buckner as high school teacher for the 2017-2018 school year, to hire Meredith McIntosh as elementary teacher for the 2017-2018 school year, to rehire all of classified personnel for the 2017-2018 school year as presented, to buy out the remaining portion of Sissy Gordon’s contract for a sum of $2,864.88 and to adopt the employee resolution allowing Shawn Carter to provide CPR training to staff as a purchase service.
In other business, the board unanimously approved the purchase of two copiers from Capital Business Machines for a sum of $6,444.63 each.
Clark provided administrative reports on high school graduation, third quarter. average enrollment, kindergarten registration, standardized testing and accreditation status.
Also during the meeting, Rachel Schafer presented a proposal requesting the district to purchase spirit team uniforms for the 2017-2018 school year. No action was taken. The next Carlisle School Board meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. May 8 in the administration building.
