On Thursday, May 4, The Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m., for their Weekly Community events.

President Cecelia Anderson opened the program for the day, by having the Center’s 20 attendees recite the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and sing “God Bless America,” accompanied by Anita Weathers on the piano.

Mary Gentry gave the invocation, followed by numerous special prayers for members in need and help. We were saddened by the unexpected death of Viola Collins, one of our friends and a member of Woodlawn.

All attendees sang “Amazing Grace,” along with our inspirational guests, Mary and Gerome Gentry. A wonderful singing evangelist couple, presenting a musical, a religious awakening program for everyone at Woodlawn. They also visit rest homes and hospitals. Their main song was “Lets’ have Church.”

Jerome was happy to say a prayer and bless our fellowship dinner.

This Thursday, May 11, all Woodlawn attendees will play “Gift Bag Bingo.” with several surprise gifts in every bag.

Come join us every Thursday at the Woodlawn Community Center, 10070 Arkansas, highway 31 north. Bring a friend.
