Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Friday he will visit several Arkansas schools this month to promote computer science.
“I am excited to kick off my fourth computer science tour to visit Arkansas high schools to generate support and excitement for our computer science and coding initiative,” Hutchinson said in a news release. “The more students take advantage of these courses in high school, the better prepared they will be to explore these in-demand fields in college and the workforce.”
He will stop at Cabot High School on Friday and it is one of four stops that day.
In 2015, the Legislature approved Hutchinson’s initiative to require all public high schools in the state to offer computer science courses.
