Gov. Asa Hutchinson will join the Kick Start Lonoke Executive Team and Action Team Co-Chairs in unveiling the Kick Start Lonoke 5-Year Strategic Action Plan at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 18 at the Lonoke Depot. The community is invited to attend this public event, featuring guests from University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.
It has been nearly one year since the University of Central Arkansas announced that Lonoke was selected to be the subject community of the Institute for Community and Economic Development’s “Kick Start” program in 2016-17. Through the program, Lonoke has undergone a thorough assessment of the community’s challenges and opportunities, with recommendations on how to utilize local assets.
Goals of the 5 year strategic plan has been crafted through a series of public and individual team meetings in consultation with the team from UCA Center for Community and Economic Development, to establish a comprehensive set of goals for infrastructure, branding, beautification, jobs and education, housing, and downtown development.
A brief reception will follow the event, where the public is invited to learn more about the extensive list of goals developed by the Kick Start Lonoke Action Teams over the last nine months.
Kick Start Lonoke is about having a transparent, respectful, inclusive conversation that ensures voices from every neighborhood are heard. Our community is together creating a vision for the future of Lonoke.
