The Lonoke School Board had a special meeting on May 22 to for a student disciplinary meeting.


Board members Darrell Park, Ross Moore, Tony Kelleybrew, and Anne Swint were present. Angela Sumner, Mike Brown and Charles Hunter were absent from the meeting.


Superintendent Suzanne Bailey recommended expulsion of male high school student for remainder of spring semester and to enter the Youth Challenge Program for violation of rule No. 2 disruptive behaviors, No. 5 truancy and No. 12 harassment, of the Parent and Student Handbook. If he fails to enroll the Youth Challenge Program or doesn’t complete the program, he will not be allowed to return to the Lonoke School District until January 2018.


The board moved into executive session at 6:28 p.m. and returned to regular meeting at 6:53. With a unanimous vote, the approve approved the superintendent’s recommendation to expel a male high school student for remainder of spring semester and to require the student to enter the Youth Challenge Program.
