On Thursday, June 8, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their weekly community events.

President Cecelia Anderson opened the program by having Sue Grady, Dorothy Henry, Mary Thate, Birtha (Sis) Larkin, Judy Johnson, Jackie Gregg, Marilyn Lewis, Andy Childress, David Neal, Emily Goodman, Sierra Goodman, Janet Ray, Brenda Ott, C. L. Ott, Anita Weathers and Dorothy Williams recite the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

Anita Weathers gave the invocation, thanking God for our many blessings and praying for those that are sick and unable to attend.

She also blessed our noontime meal in advance as the activity for the day was an interesting game of “Gift Bag Bingo.”

There were lots of fun gifts in those “Gift Bags. Black Out or Wipe Out was the final part of the game. It was a day of surprises.

After dinner, Martha Dawson, the secretary-treasurer of the Woodlawn E.H.C. along with Cecelia Anderson, president and Marilyn Lewis, vice president, updated, everyone with the latest Lonoke County E.H.C. programs and events.

Wednesday, June 14, at 11:30 a.m. will be the Centers get together dinner at “Larry’s Pizza” in Cabot.

This Thursday, June 15, Joe Wooding, a faithful friend will be the Center’s guest, presenting a program of religious and older songs.

Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for pot luck.
