The City of Cabot recognized Animal Services Officer Virginia Hightower as the employee of the month for July for her hard work and dedication during the month of June.

Over the last month in June, “Ginny” has gone above and beyond in her normal duties. Recently, she was promoted to Animal Services Officer and has truly taken the job and excelled.

Being an Animal Services Officer for the City of Cabot is a demanding job. Currently there are only two officers; thus, a two-officer rotation for being on-call and having to learn the duties quickly while performing the job itself. However, with the recent vacancies in the Animal Services Department, her job duties have increased three-fold. In spite of this, Ginny gladly took on the responsibilities of all areas of Animal Services to include the positions of kennel technician, shelter technician, and officer.

During the month of June, she maintained a positive attitude while performing four weeks straight of 24 hour a day “on call” shifts. She was called out 19 times after normal work hours for citizen and animal welfare situations.

Her dedication to the Cabot Animal Services and her loyalty to the City of Cabot is why she was an easy choice for employee of the month.

For being chosen employee of the month, Ginny will receive a plaque with her name on it, her name added to the list of employees chosen as employee of the month on the City Hall plaque, her story in the newspaper, and lunch with the Mayor and the Human Resources Director.

The City will choose an employee each month based on their hard work from the month before.
