On Thursday, Aug. 10, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their weekly community events.


President Cecelia Anderson opened the program by having Dorothy Henry, Marilyn Lewis, Roy Kittell, Andy Childress, Kathryn Abeshure, Sherry Abeshure, David Neal, Janet Ray, Brenda Ott, C. L. Ott, Jackie Maxwell and Dorothy Williams recited the “Pledge of Allegiance.”


Janet Ray gave the invocation, thanking God for our many blessings praying for Anita Weathers, Mary Thate, Mary Beth Forrester, Judy Johnson and Sue Grady that are on the sick list, and unable to attend. She also blessed the noon time meal.


All attendees enjoyed playing “Gift Bag Bingo,”with a surprise in every bag.


On Wednesday, Aug. 9, Woodlawn members enjoyed a noon meal at “The Hook” in Jacksonville.


This Thursday, Aug. 17, our special talented friend Bobby Burns from Smith-Westbrook,, Beebe, Arkansas, along with his band, will play “Blue Grass,”an enjoyable day for all attendees. Please feel free to come and enjoy Bobby Burns and his band and then join us for food and friendship at the Woodlawn Community Center,10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for pot luck.
