On Sept. 7, The Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their Weekly Community Events.

Dorothy Henry opened the day, by greeting Sue Grady, Doris Walker, Jackie Maxwell, Judy Jonson, Roy Kittell, Lisa Patterson Thomas, Jack Boles, Mary Thate, Birtha Larkin, Sue Swayne, Andy Childers, Pop Burgess, Fred Staley, Carolyn Staley, Janet Ray, Brenda Ott,Tommy Johnson, Joy Patterson, Mabel Hooper, David Neal, Cecelia Anderson, Rita Schmitz, Louise Crabtree, Kern Kennedy, Pat Wilkerson, Patrica Womack, Johnny Scroggins and Dorothy Williams, having the attendees recite “The Pledge of Allegiance.”

Sue Swayne gave the invocation, praying for all our neighbors and friends, that are on the sick list and unable to attend.

Dorothy turned the program over to the most famous “Keyboard Player,” Kern Kennedy, along with his guest Johnny Scroggins, and his “base fiddle.” He accompanied Kern most of the time. Our friends Fred Staley and Lisa Thomas, also sang several songs. Oldies but goodies, best describes their music.

Fred Staley blessed the Center’s noon meal.
