The Carlisle Progressive Club held its first meeting of the new year Sept. 13 in the United Methodist Family Life Center. Hostesses Cathy Williams and Ann Lenderman had tables dressed with fall colors and flowers waiting to greet everyone.

After visitation, President Carolyn Flynn welcomed all, and Sharolyn Sumner introduced guests Laura Rowlan, Brooklyn Daniels, her mom Sherri, and grandmother Betty Daniels. Everyone enjoyed the club’s traditional potluck salad luncheon. Guest speaker, Brooklyn Daniels, shared some of her experiences from Girls State, noted the lasting friendships she made, and thanked the club for sponsoring her.

President Carolyn Flynn conducted the business meeting, and Debbye Harrison reported on the Carlisle Imagination Library program. She stated that the program is going well with 147 children signed up. The meeting was adjourned with the Club Prayer.

The Oct. 11 meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Lonoke Open Arms Shelter. Members who would like to carpool should meet at the United Methodist Church at 1 p.m.
