Receiving an invitation for a “Thanksgiving Dinner” and a”Welcome Veteran’s Day,” from the “New Horizon Baptist Church,” 21 Woodlawn Community Center members attended this wonderful eventful day on Nov. 16. American flags were on display. Veterans were recognized. The Children presented a program on the greatness of our “American Flag.” How our veterans fought many wars to save it. Their presentation of United State’s history with quotations and then singing older songs, while waving little American Flags was a privilege to watch.

The ladies of the church prepared a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Games were played. There was a recognition of many, from the oldest to those recognized in other events in life. A drawing with many gifts was a closing event. Brother Bernard gave the closing prayer, “Thanking God for our great country and for all we had to be thankful for.”
