It’s always been said, “Christmas is the time for giving” and this year, is no exception as the Carlisle Bison Angel tree sponsored presents for 118 children.

“This year, as in the years past, so many civic groups, churches, Sunday School Classes, businesses and individuals have been unbelievably generous,” Angel Tree Coordinator Karen Dycus said. ” We have had many children sponsored, various items donated from shoes to hygiene bags, along with several monetary donations.”

Among theses sponsors, is Marcy Morris, 9, of Carlisle, whom for the past two years has saved change and donated it to help purchase gifts for less fortunate children on the Bison Angel tree.

Last year during the Bison Angel Tree campaign, Morris brought the money from her piggy bank, around $36, and donated toward the angel tree. This year, she not only saved coins herself, but also encouraged her family to join the cause. With the help of her family, she collected $201.29 in change and donated to the Bison Angel Tree.

“Marcy brought in $201.29 so all kids could have a present,” Dycus said.
